Hi, I'm Hardly. I've been a drummer & guitarist for over a decade, playing Ramones songs all the while. I mostly upload Ramones related content (Guitar Covers, Tutorials, Music Videos, Remasters, etc.). I recommend checking my PLAYLISTS to sift through my videos most easily. I also offer music mixing & mastering services, and release my own original music (all linked below).
About my Guitar Covers:
Johnny Ramone's guitar style gets watered down and even butchered in many tabs & tutorials. Easy power chords & strumming styles are substituted for the more challenging barre chords & downstrokes that defined him as a player, yet many of these tutorials/tabs present themselves as "correct". Don't get me wrong, people can (and should) play guitar however they want, and it's not wrong to teach easy versions of songs... but it's a shame to see the correct techniques become lost to time. For this reason, I like to showcase the authentic way these songs were originally played.

Nice! Are you strumming all 6 strings?
It varies on this one, for the open chords you strum all the strings you're fretting, and then the barre chord sections are very subdued, the bottom 4 or so strings. Johnny Ramone usually only hits all 6 on the faster songs, which I do for most of the other tracks on this album

Hey Hardly, any chance you'd do a quick tutorial on the solo on this song, especially the live version? I've watched every video I can find on YT, and I still can't get the hang of it. I realize my lead playing is absolutely horrific, but still haha
I'm considering shooting a video about a bunch of random small things from specific songs (like this solo) after I put up the Johnny Ramone iceberg video. For now though, I should mention, this solo is played on the A and D strings, 5th and 7th frets, but you also play the Open E string the whole time. That's how Johnny did it on his rhythm track from the first album. Live, the key of this song was changed, and the solo was moved to the E and A strings, 8th and 10th frets. Because of this, there is no Open E string in the solo during most live shows.
